FOURTH OF JULY-2008
Joe turned 7 years old today. He enjoyed playing pool, ping-pong, and air hockey on his new table. Chuck E Cheese was the lunch choice for the big birthday. Although Bill and I tried to convince him otherwise, he was set on going to C E C for the "pizza" and not the games!! We had a nice and quiet time with no one else at the restaurant on a beautiful 4th.
Later in the day we enjoyed outdoor games and a great view of the fireworks at our firends the Sigwarth's.

HOODADS ROCK!!
We had a great weekend with Jim, Nikki, Emmalee, and Andrew back from Australia. We started the weekend with Jim and Emmalee coming to CF. Erica and Reece loved playing with the kids while Jim and I enjoyed the Hoodads show at the HUB. Jim was impressed and met some of our CF friends. Next time Nikki and Andrew will have to come to CF and hopefully be feeling lots better than this time. The weekend continued with family pictures and a party at the Rhomberg's. The ride back to CF was long and sad as we listened to Alex say..."I can't believe it's going to be another year before we see our cousins." We don't like that part of the deal either! So I will attempt to do a better job keeping them posted with this blog. Our kids enjoy Nikki's blog and it is such a great way for our families to experience the other's daily life. We MISS YOU...Jim, Nikki, Emmalee, and Andrew!

Beautiful Snow....again!

Thursday, March 27th

We are in the midst of another snow storm here in Cedar Falls. Joe is home with a low-grade temp for the fourth day in a row. Abby is taking care of him with her Dr. kit. She also knows how much he likes gum so she brings him pieces and says, "here you go...DOE (JOE)." She loves to do EVERYTHING herself. Here favorite words include....MOM, MINE, DADDY HOME?, PICKLES,POCKETS, ALEX, DOE(JOE), IRISH, BABY....and many more.

November 15th, 2007
This month went so quickly!!! Alex finished soccer and started basketball. Joe is continuing swim lessons. Abby is dressing up and running around naked most days. Bill finally received his leaf attachment for the tractor. Our old neighbors want us to bring them a pile of leaves to play in. We have plenty!!! We are off to Notre Dame this weekend for the DUKE/ND game. We have lots of layers an blankets packed. The temp should be around 40-we will need lots of hot chocolate!!

October 10th, 2007

I am a true farm girl now. I have learned to use the John Deere tractor. The grass lines look more like waves than lines when I mow, but I'll keep trying. The kids love to go on the trailer.

We had a jam-packed weekend. Friday night we took the kids to Maureen and Bob's for a sleepover while Bill and I went to the Newsboys concert. We enjoyed the show from the 6th row. It was a great concert with lots of confetti and lights. Bill said he just "loves LIVE music." I told him I would like those seats for a Bon Jovi concert!!!

Alex had a game on Saturday. The boys played well, but were overpowered by an older and bigger team. They don't seem to mind too much if they lose. That's a good thing! We had dinner with Maureen, Bob, and Reece and then off to our friend's house for the evening. The boys played and played and played some more. We could hear someone playing the drums in the basement so we took a look. We found Joe just playing away on the drums. Bill was thrilled. Alex enjoyed the video game, Guitar Hero, for most of the night. He is hoping Santa will bring that game for him. I'm hoping it comes our for the Wii before Christmas!!!

I spent most of Sunday at church working the Bake Sale. After I came home we turned around and went to Alex's friends flag football game. It was fun to see the boys play-lots of different rules to follow. We kept the festivities going at our friend's house. It was a party for the flag football team and our family(I guess we were included as their fans). Katie and Joel had a great spread of food and the kids had a great time playing. Abby enjoyed Hallie's room full of dolls and pink stuff!

Abby is very cranky this week. She is fighting an infection as the result of being on her antibiotic for her ear infection. She likes extra rocking and cuddles. I don't mind that at all!!!

THE HOUSE ON RANCHERO

We are happy to share our daily life here on Ranchero Road with our family and friends.
